World of the Ring by Jian Guo
Middle-Earth seems like it’s a pretty happening place: plenty of exotic locales to explore, elves handing out gifts, trees to ride when your footses ache, and treasure available only to those courageous enough to take it. If it ever existed in a Tolkien novel or note, then Jian has probably drawn it: his jaw-droppingly resplendent masterpieces tell just as enthralling a story as the novels they emulate… though in considerably fewer words. “I put it (a dummy) in Jennifer Lawrence’s trailer, her bathroom, so she went to go to the bathroom and she had to pee, ‘cause you do when you have to go to the bathroom, and she opens the door and sees this dummy and screams and apparently peed her pants. The Lord of the Rings Movie Trivia: In the wide shots of Legolas, Aragorn and Gimli running after the Orcs, all three performers are running injured. Orlando Bloom had a couple of broken ribs (from a fall off a horse); Viggo Mortensen had a broken toe (from kicking the helmet in the Orcs funeral pyre scene); and Brett Beattie (Gimli’s stunt double) had a knee injury. Peter Jackson said that all three were very dedicated and continued to film the scene, often yelling “ouch” or “ow” after “cut” was called.
